Learn vocabulary, terms, and more with flashcards, games, and other study tools.

The Holy Trinity is the mystery of three Persons in one God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The mystery of the Trinity is the object of faith in the Tradition of the Church only because it was revealed by Jesus Christ, the divine Son of the eternal Father. The Trinity is inaccessible to the human mind. 1 Corinthians - But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him. Ephesians - One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all. Matthew - And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Those taught by God the Father, to know God the Son; are blessed. A sermon preached at Boston lecture, July 3d. / By Solomon Stoddard, A.M. Pastor of the Church of Christ at Northampton.

Abinadi taught that Jesus Christ was both "the Father and the Son." This has caused many to wonder whether the Book of Mormon teaches a trinitarian concept of God. By viewing Abinadi's teachings through the lenses of Mesoamerican "deity complexes," however, a different understanding emerges.

These "deity complexes" in Maya religion envisioned single deities in various. “It is written in the prophets, ‘AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me.

King James Bible It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that has heard, and has learned of the Father, comes unto me.

American King James Version. GOD THE SON. Recently we considered the subject, God the Father. There has been little contradiction of the fact that the Father is God.

But some have denied that Christ was really the Son, and therefore not deity. So let us go to Isa. 45 for some background. Elohim is the word for God in Gen. El is God in contrast to the gods of the heathen. Among other things, this means that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equally God, each possessing everything that is essential to deity.

Having considered the deity of the Father, we move today to considering the deity of the Son. John –18 contains some of the clearest teaching on this subject. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father.

Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Colossians He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 1 John The divine persons do not share the one divinity among themselves but each of them is God whole and entire: 'The Father is that which the Son is, the Son that which the Father is, the Father and.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me John Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

When we say these things we mean that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, but they are not three gods but only one God. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit, the Spirit is not the Father, but each is God individually and yet they are together the one true God.

The Father revealed by the Son. Many religions invoke God as "Father". The deity is often considered the "father of gods and of men". In Israel, God is called "Father" inasmuch as he is Creator of the world.

59 Even more, God is Father because of the covenant and the gift of the law to Israel, "his first-born son". 60 God is also. However, God did not become Father when He adopted us as children.

God’s fatherhood is eternal. He is eternally the Father of Jesus Christ, and through Jesus He is our Father. Through Jesus we receive the Father’s love and are called “children of God.” What an honor it is that God calls us His children and gives us the assurance that as His children we are heirs and co-heirs.

Paul writes to Timothy and he says, “From a child you have known the holy scriptures which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus.”And he learned it from his mother and was home schooling way back ’re studying it, mother, and grandmother and son and ’re studying the Bible and he’s a child on their own, in.

Teachings About God the Father. In the Old Testament writings, the most common titles or names used for God the Father is God, Jehovah or the Lord. But it is the New Testament that most commonly refers to Him as God the Father or just Father. Those taught by God the Father, to know God the Son ; are blessed: a sermon preached at Boston lecture, July 3d.

The primary goal of God’s perfect plan is to demonstrate the glory of God. A secondary goal is to accomplish the good of those who love God: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans ).

Book of Jasher, Chapter 26 1 And in the fifty-ninth year of the life of Isaac the son of Abraham, Rebecca his wife was still barren in those days. 2 And Rebecca said unto Isaac, Truly I have heard, my lord, that thy mother Sarah was barren in her days until my Lord Abraham, thy father, prayed for her and she conceived by him.

- The assurance that God hears and answers our prayers. Romans - "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."" -The joy of having the heavenly Father to call our father.

Those blessings are "in Christ." 1. God has not predestined individuals to be saved or lost, but rather, has predestined the method by which we are saved. If we obey the gospel, we are baptized "into Christ" (Romans ,4).

God has predestined all those "in Christ" to be "blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places" (Ephesians ). The son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God. Isaiah ESV / 6 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father.

Jesus emphasized that God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) was reconciling humanity to himself. That is why he instructed his followers to welcome people into right relationship with God by baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew ).

The God we worship through Jesus Christ is the Triune God. 1. God as Our Father is Revealed in the Bible. The New Testament is full of passages declaring God to be Our loving Heavenly Father.

Allow me to quote three important aspects of this: One of the best known pictures of God as Father is seen in the parable of the prodigal son (Luke ).The Savior taught His disciples: “If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. He that hath seen me hath seen the Father” (John9).

We draw near to God the Father as we study the scriptures and the words of latter-day prophets and as we give service.

When we follow God’s will and live as He would have us live, we. Updated J God the Father is the first Person of the Trinity, which also includes his Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Christians believe there is one God who exists in three Persons.

This mystery of the faith cannot be fully understood by the human mind but is a key doctrine of : Jack Zavada.
